What is High Performance Butterfly Valve ?
The high-performance butterfly valve disc and seal ring adopt a unique eccentric structure, the sword between the valve disc and the seal ring achieves zero friction, and the intermediate action process is line-surface contact. It has the characteristics of compact structure, good cutting performance, and long service life. It has both regulation and cutting functions. High-performance butterfly valves are widely used for throttling control and usually perform well in applications with constant pressure drop or slow process cycles. They improve the valve utilization rate in throttling applications provided by standard butterfly valves, while providing excellent performance and more precise flow control. In addition, they also provide long-term positive and bidirectional shutoff functions in control and on/off applications.
Advantages of high-performance butterfly valve
- 01It has outstanding closing performance. They use a unique self-excitation sealing system with a two-way soft seal ring. With the help of the valve seat and medium auxiliary pressure, the valve closing level reaches ANSI VI in both directions.
- 02Excellent flow control performance. High-performance butterfly valves have a nearly linear flow characteristic. The butterfly plate rotates within 90 degrees, so that the valve can be used for throttling or on/off control.
- 03Low maintenance cost. The valve seat can be replaced by removing the insert. The butterfly plate/shaft parts can be replaced separately after removing the bushing and tapered pin.
- 04High-performance butterfly valves are suitable for high-temperature conditions and can operate stably for a long time in high-temperature environments.
- 05Its switching path minimizes the contact between the butterfly plate and the sealing ring, thereby reducing the wear and abnormal friction of the sealing ring and reducing the sealing torque requirements.
- 06High-performance butterfly valves have large flow capacity and low flow resistance, second only to O-type ball valves with the same caliber without reduction.

With double or triple eccentric structures, when closed, the disc expands outward to achieve a peripheral sealing state; when opened, the disc quickly separates from the sealing ring, effectively preventing the sealing ring from wearing; in this way, the operating torque is reduced and the service life of the valve is increased. We have two types of seals: PTFE soft seal and metal seal made of various materials such as SS 316/Alloy 718. Both types of seals can achieve excellent sealing performance in both flow directions. Equipped with an additional stem fixing device, which provides additional protection for the valve stem. The packing gland and the stem anti-blowout step interact to firmly fix the valve stem in the valve body. The seat of the high-performance butterfly valve has a memory function. The valve seat returns to its original shape after loading. The ability of the valve seat to recover is defined by the measurement of the permanent deformation of the valve seat. The lower the permanent deformation means that the material has better memory-it is not easy to deform permanently after the load is applied. |
